When I Turn To You by Bryan Duncan & So Good For The Soul
When I Turn To You by Bryan Duncan & So Good For The Soul. From the Shine album, produced by Christopher Redner.
Bryan doesn't remember ever performing When I Turn To You live before we recorded the Shine album. The original arrangement of the song, recorded on Quiet Prayers, just wasn't a good fit for most of Bryan's live engagements. One of my goals for the Shine album was to record an arrangement of the song that Bryan would be more likely to perform live. That worked...he's received great feedback when he's include this song in concerts, services, and events.

    Man, we're getting old, Bryan🥰 I have your original recording of this song and STILL love it! Your voice is STILL blessed.......so glad! My hubby of 42 yrs is with Jesus now but at his Celebration of Life service I played two of your songs off your "no longer available CD", Quiet Prayers. What an AMAZING BEAUTIFUL CD that is. In fact, I have 2 of them because I wanted to be sure I'd always be able to play those songs. LOL So happy you're still singing and praising our King!!

    My wife and I was there at the Mabee Center at ORU in Tulsa 1994. We were on the third row and Bryan and Bob surprised everyone joking around those coats were from the ushers that helped you find your seats. I can hear my wife yell twice in this video. It is awesome to find this. We saw the movie “Unsung Hero” last night and didn’t realize it was about Rebecca StJames who sang on this tour with Bryan and Bob.

    I think, if it comes right down to it, a single senator in Missouri, Stuart Symington caused all the trouble by INSISTING that Kansas City Missouri get a team in 1969. In order to do that, MLB had to move up activation of the Seattle Pilots so the addition of Expansion teams would not be uneven. fortunately, despite senator Symington, the Pilots did pretty good AFTER they left Seattle. They became the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers even made it to the World Series. the Mariners have yet to make it there.

    • @lynntempleton9640
      @lynntempleton9640 3 года назад

      Symington was very powerful on Capitol Hill and threated to go after baseball's anti-trust exemption. He, and many others, were outraged that Charles O. Finley was allowed to move the A's out of KC and on to Oakland.

    Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I always thought it was regrettable what group-think, Christian music production sensibilities and the synth-mad tastes of their more popular era did to these two immense talents. Fortunately, we have been blessed in the succeeding decades to hear Mr. Duncan's alternately smooth and soaring blue-eyed soul but afaik, it's tough to find performances featuring Mr. Carlisle's raucous mad R&B skeels. Can anyone help a brother here? Two examples that serve as extreme examples of what I am talking about were on the one hand, the contrived "Strong Medicine - Don't Ya Wanna Rap" and then on the other, Mr. Carlisle's (Allies) wonderfully wild "The River" (e.g., Rock 'n Roll Angel, Carried Away, and Mule-headed Man.) For those into counting, we are slip-sliding into the sixth decade of musical joy from these guys : O God bless these brothers for all they've given up for Him.

    When I was in Seattle back in 1996 I took a tour of the Kingdome. It was a rainy Monday morning and I was the only one on the tour. So it was one to one. My guide told me that Seattle put a small tax on rental cars to fund the stadium as there would be little objection from anyone in the city. Most renters were visitors. So people who paid for the park were problem those who never say a game there. If this is true.
